How to Customize Your Form’s Ending Screen

Thank people for completing your form, explain what happens next, and add an optional button linking to a helpful page.

Written by Damaris Pacheco

This guide walks you through customizing the ending screen in an Interact form.

You’ll be able to:

  • Edit your thank-you heading and description

  • Add an optional button and destination link

  • Customize the design through your form’s theme

  • Preview your ending screen before publishing

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

  • An Interact account with access to Forms

  • An existing form, or a new blank form

  • A thank-you message and any next steps you want to share

  • A destination URL, if you want to add a button

Your ending screen includes:

Part

What it does

Heading

Thanks people or confirms they’ve finished

Description

Explains what happens next

Optional button

Links to a page you choose

💡 Note: The ending screen is labeled Thank you in the builder. Unlike quiz results, a form uses the same ending screen for everyone who completes it.

Step 1: Open Your Ending Screen

  1. Log in to your Interact dashboard.

  2. Click Forms in the left sidebar.

  3. Find your form and click Edit. If you’re viewing its overview, click Edit form.

  4. Click Thank you at the bottom of the list on the left side of the builder.

Step 2: Edit Your Thank-You Heading

  1. Click the heading on the ending-screen canvas. On a blank screen, the prompt reads Say thank you!.

  2. Enter a short message thanking people or confirming that they’ve finished.

  3. Review the wording to make sure it matches the purpose of your form.

For an event registration form, you could use:

  • Heading: Thanks for Registering!

Choose a clear confirmation message

Other examples include:

  • Thanks for Your Feedback

  • We’ve Received Your Request

  • Thanks for Signing Up

💡 Note: Use wording that accurately describes what completing the form means. For example, receiving a consultation request does not necessarily confirm an appointment.

Step 3: Add a Description

  1. Click Description (optional) beneath the heading, or click the existing description.

  2. Add a short explanation of what happens next.

  3. Include any details people need after submitting the form.

For the event registration example, you could use:

  • Description: We’ll email you the workshop details before the event. In the meantime, visit the event page to learn more.

Set expectations

Depending on your form, the description could explain:

  • When someone should expect a reply

  • Where to find additional information

  • What they should do next

Only promise follow-up emails or response times that your team has arranged.

💡 Note: Adding a message about an email does not configure email delivery. Set up any follow-up process separately.

Step 4: Add an Optional Button

Use a button to link to event details, your website, or another helpful page after someone completes the form.

  1. With Thank you selected, find Button in the side panel.

  2. Turn on Button.

  3. Enter the text you want to display in Button label.

  4. Enter the destination URL in Button link.

For example:

  • Button label: View Event Details

  • Button link: The full URL of your event details page

Write a helpful button label

Choose a label that explains where the link leads, such as:

  • Visit Our Website

  • Explore Our Services

  • View Event Details

Hide the button

If you don’t need a link, turn Button off in the side panel.

💡 Note: The button won’t appear until a link is added. Turning on Button or entering a label alone is not enough.

Step 5: Customize the Design

Use the Theme icon—the palette on the right side of the builder—to adjust the form’s visual style.

Create a theme

  1. Click the Theme icon.

  2. In the new-theme panel, select a starting theme.

  3. Click Start from [theme name].

  4. Enter a Theme name.

  5. Customize the settings below, then click Create theme to save it.

Colors and fonts

Use Accent, Background, and Text to choose your colors. Use Heading font and Body font to select your fonts.

Choose colors that keep your heading, description, and optional button easy to read.

Border shape

Choose Sharp, Subtle, Rounded, or Pill to adjust the border shape used by the theme.

💡 Note: Theme settings style the form, including its ending screen. Review your welcome screen and questions after changing the theme so the whole form looks consistent.
