This guide walks you through previewing, publishing, and sharing a form.
You’ll be able to:
Test your form on desktop and mobile
Publish your form and later updates
Check that your form is accepting responses
Copy a direct link
Customize how your link appears when shared
Before You Start
Make sure you have:
An Interact account with access to Forms
A form with your welcome screen, questions, and ending screen ready to review
Any destination links you want to test, such as an ending-screen button
Understand the three stages
Stage | What it does |
Preview | Lets you test the form without saving responses |
Publish | Makes your form or its latest edits live |
Share | Gives you the public link people use to fill in the form |
💡 Note: All changes saved means your edits are saved in the builder. Publishing is a separate step that makes those edits live.
Step 1: Open Your Form
Log in to your Interact dashboard.
Click Forms in the left sidebar.
Find your form and click Edit. If you’re on the form overview, click Edit form.
Wait for All changes saved at the top of the builder before reviewing your latest edits.
Step 2: Preview Your Form
Click Preview—the ▶ button next to Publish.
Review your welcome screen and click its start button.
Answer the questions as a visitor would.
Submit the preview form to reach the ending screen.
Review the thank-you message and test any optional button link.
Check desktop and mobile layouts
Use Desktop and Mobile at the top of the preview to review both views. Use the restart icon to begin the form again when needed.
Check that:
Your welcome heading explains what the form is for
Questions, descriptions, and answer choices are clear
Required questions cannot be skipped
Multiple-selection limits work as intended
Text and buttons are readable on both screen sizes
The ending screen and its optional link are correct
💡 Note: Responses submitted in preview aren’t saved. Use preview to test the experience; use the published form when you need to check a saved submission.
Make adjustments
Click the × in the top-right corner of the preview to return to the builder.
Edit any wording, settings, or design details that need attention.
Wait for All changes saved, then preview again as needed.
Step 3: Publish Your Form
Click Publish in the top-right corner of the builder.
Review the Publish form dialog and any messages shown there.
Click Publish changes when you’re ready to make the form live.
Return to Forms and check that your form is marked Live.
💡 Note: If you edit a form that’s already live, preview your changes and publish again when you want visitors to see the update.
Step 4: Check That Your Form Is Accepting Responses
Open your published form’s overview from the Forms dashboard.
Click the Settings tab.
Find Accepting responses.
Make sure it is on before sharing the form with your audience.
Turn Accepting responses off when you want to stop taking submissions.
💡 Note: The Settings and Share tabs are on the form overview. Return from the question builder to the Forms dashboard to open them.
Step 5: Copy Your Share Link
On the form overview, click Share. You can also click Share beside the published form in the Forms dashboard.
Find Share link.
Click Copy link.
Paste the link into an email, message, social post, or another place where your audience can find it.
💡 Note: Use Copy link to get the public form link. The URL in your browser while editing or managing the form is not the visitor link.
Optional: Customize Your Link Preview
The link preview controls the title, description, and image associated with your link when it appears in supported chats, emails, and posts.
Open the form’s Share tab.
Under Link preview, click Customize.
Enter a Title of up to 60 characters.
Enter a Description of up to 160 characters.
If you want a custom image, use Upload image. The dialog recommends 1200 × 630 px.
Review the preview and click Save.
💡 Note: Leave a field empty to use its default. The preview dialog shows the Interact image when no custom image is uploaded. The appearance of the link can vary by the service where you share it.
Step 6: Test the Public Link
Paste the copied link into a new browser tab or private window.
Check that it opens the form for visitors.
Complete the form using clearly identified test information.
Return to the form overview and check Responses if you want to confirm that the live submission was recorded.
If you configured a follow-up process, check that separately using an email address you control.
💡 Note: A submission through the published link can create a saved response. Unlike preview, this is a live test.
