Choose which questions people must answer
Customize your form’s design and button text
Preview and publish your form
Share a direct link or embed the form on your website
Before You Start
Make sure you have:
An Interact account
Access to Forms in your dashboard
The questions and information you want to collect
Every form includes three parts:
Part | What it includes |
Welcome screen | A heading, a short description, and a start button |
Questions | One question per screen |
Ending screen | A thank-you message and an optional button linking to a page you choose |
💡 Note: Unlike a quiz, a form shows everyone the same ending screen.
Step 1: Create Your Form
Log in to your Interact dashboard.
Click Forms in the left sidebar.
Click Create form.
Choose Blank form under Start from scratch, or select a template under Start from a template.
Click Untitled Form at the top of the builder to name your form, then click Save.
Step 2: Customize Your Welcome Screen
Use the welcome screen to explain what your form is for and what people should expect.
Click Welcome in the form builder.
Click the heading on the canvas and enter a heading that describes your form.
Click Description (optional) on the canvas and add a short description explaining why someone should complete it.
For example, an event sign-up form could use:
Heading: Join Our Next Workshop
Description: Share your contact details and tell us what you’d like to learn.
💡 Note: You can change the start button label using the Text icon (which opens Form text) in the builder.
Step 3: Add Your Questions
In the form builder, find Questions.
Click + (Add question) next to Questions.
Select a question type.
Click Ask a question on the canvas to enter your question. Enter answer choices in the side panel and use Add option as needed.
Repeat until you’ve added all your questions.
Choose a question type
There are eight question types available:
Group | Question type | Good for |
Contact | Collecting email addresses | |
Contact | Phone | Collecting phone numbers |
Contact | URL | Collecting website or portfolio links |
Choice | Multiple choice | Letting people select one or more options |
Choice | Dropdown | Selecting from longer lists of options |
Choice | Consent | Capturing consent |
Text | Short text | Names, company names, and one-line answers |
Text | Long text | Open-ended answers and comments |
Add descriptions and placeholder text
Add an optional description to give people more context about a question.
Text, contact, and dropdown questions can also display placeholder text.
Make a question required
Turn on Required for any question people must answer before continuing.
Allow multiple selections
For multiple choice questions, turn on Allow multiple to let people select more than one answer.
You can also set a minimum and maximum number of selections.
Step 4: Customize Your Ending Screen
Use the ending screen to confirm that someone has finished your form and explain what happens next.
Click Thank you in the builder.
Click the heading or Description (optional) on the canvas to edit the message.
To add a link, turn on Button, then enter a Button label and Button link. The button will not appear until a link is added.
For example, you could thank someone for registering and link to your event details.
💡 Note: Everyone who completes your form sees the same ending screen.
Step 5: Customize Your Form’s Design
Use themes to match your form to your brand.
Click the Theme icon—the palette on the right side of the builder.
In the new-theme panel, select a starting theme, then click Start from [theme name].
Enter a Theme name and customize the settings below.
Click Create theme to save the new theme.
Colors
Set your Accent, Background, and Text colors using a hex code or the color picker.
Fonts
Choose a Heading font and Body font from the searchable font list.
Border shape
Choose Sharp, Subtle, Rounded, or Pill.
💡 Note: The new-theme editor shows New theme · not created yet until you save. It indicates that only the current form will use the new theme when created.
Change the button text
Click the Text icon (which opens Form text) below the Theme icon.
Update the labels for your Start, Continue, and Submit buttons.
Step 6: Preview Your Form
Test your form before sharing it.
Click the ▶ button next to Publish.
Complete the form as a visitor would.
Switch between Desktop and Mobile to check both views.
Use the restart button to run through it again.
Check that:
Your questions and answer choices are clear
Required questions prevent people from continuing without an answer
Multiple-selection limits work as expected
Your ending screen and optional button link are correct
💡 Note: Responses submitted in preview aren’t saved.
Step 7: Configure Your Form Settings
Return to Forms, open the form overview, and click Settings. These tabs appear on the overview, rather than inside the question editor.
Turn responses on or off
Use Accepting responses to control whether your form accepts submissions.
Set up email notifications
Turn on Email notifications.
Follow the notification options displayed for your account to configure delivery.
Step 8: Publish Your Form
Click Publish in the top right corner.
In the Publish form dialog, review the form and click Publish changes.
Return to Forms and check that the form is marked Live.
Step 9: Share or Embed Your Form
Open your form and click the Share tab. You can also click the Share icon next to your form in the Forms list.
Share a direct link
Anyone with the link can fill in your published form while Accepting responses is enabled.
Customize the link preview
The link preview controls how your link looks when pasted into a chat or post.
Find Link preview.
Click Customize to make changes.
Embed the form on your website
Under Embed on your site, click Standard.
Select your website platform under Code for.
Click Copy code.
Paste the code into your page where you want the form to appear.
Available options include WordPress, Squarespace, Showit, Wix, Kajabi, Shopify, LeadPages, ClickFunnels, and Carrd, along with JavaScript and iFrame code.
💡 Note: The current form-sharing screen offers a Standard embed.
View Your Responses
After sharing your form, open it and click the Responses tab.
If there are no submissions, you will see No responses for this form yet. Responses appear after people submit the form. Check the populated Responses view for available export options.
