This guide walks you through embedding an Interact quiz as a pop-up on a WordPress site.
You’ll be able to:
Add your quiz as a pop-up on your site
Control how and when the pop-up appears
Confirm the pop-up loads correctly on your live site
Before you start
Make sure you have the following:
An active Interact account
At least one created quiz in Interact
Your quiz is published in Interact
Access to edit your WordPress site
The Interact WordPress plugin installed and activated
❗ Important: Plugins are only available starting with the WordPress Business plan (WordPress.com). If you don’t have access to Plugins in WordPress, you won’t be able to use this method.
💡 Note: If you don’t see the pop-up immediately after adding the Promotion ID, save your changes and check your live page to confirm it’s showing.
Step 1. Get your Interact Quiz Pop-Up Code
Log in to Interact.
Locate the quiz you want to add as a pop-up.
Click the Share & Embed tab.
Click Popup.
Click the WordPress tab.
Toggle on Promote under Activate the quiz to promote.
❗ Important: You can have 1 quiz pop-up running at a time. If another quiz pop-up is already active, activating this one will replace it.
7. Customize your pop-up with the desired options.
💡 Note: To limit the WordPress pages that your pop-up appears on, use the visibility settings and add the specific URL paths you want the pop-up (or announcement bar) to appear on.
8. Click Copy ID.
❗ Important: Always copy the pop-up ID from the quiz’s Share & Embed settings (not from the browser address bar URL).
Step 2. Add the Pop-Up Code to WordPress
You’ll paste your Promotion ID into the Interact plugin settings in WordPress.
Embed the quiz as a pop-up using the Interact WordPress plugin (Promotion ID)
Log in to WordPress.
(If needed) Install and activate the Interact plugin:
From your WordPress account, click Settings, then choose Interact.
Paste the ID you copied from Interact into the Promotion ID box.
Click Set Promotion ID.
Step 3. View the Pop-Up on Your Live Page
Open the WordPress page(s) where you want the pop-up to appear.
Confirm the pop-up is displaying correctly.
💡 Tip: You can go back to your Interact Popup settings at any time to change how and where the pop-up displays.
Step 4. Test the Embed
Confirm the pop-up works end-to-end on your WordPress site.
Load the page where you enabled the pop-up.
Wait for the pop-up to appear (based on your timing settings), or trigger it using your configured rules.
Take the quiz as a visitor would.
If your quiz includes an opt-in form, submit the form to confirm it appears and can be completed.
⚠️ Warning: If you’re testing an opt-in form, use a real email you can access so you can verify follow-up emails (if you have them enabled).
Step 5. Publish your WordPress changes
WordPress changes won’t be visible to visitors until they’re saved (and your page is publicly accessible).
In WordPress, confirm you clicked Set Promotion ID in Settings → Interact.
Confirm the page(s) you’re testing are accessible to visitors (not hidden or restricted).
❗ Important: If you paste the Promotion ID but don’t click Set Promotion ID, the pop-up won’t appear for visitors.
