How to Connect Google Analytics to Interact

This article will describe how to connect your Google Analytics account to Interact apps.

Steps for connecting Google Analytics to your Interact apps:

  1. Find your Google Analytics ID

  2. Connect Google Analytics tracking on your Interact app

  3. Analyze events in Google Analytics dashboard

Find your Google Analytics ID:

Step 1: Login to your Google Analytics account and navigate to Admin section located in the bottom left sidebar.

Step 2: Click Tracking Info -> Tracking Code, located in the middle column of the page.

Step 3: Here you will find your Tracking ID. This is needed for the next setup steps.

Connect Google Analytics tracking on your Interact app

Step 1: In the Interact app builder, under Conversion Tracking, choose Google Analytics from the list of clients.

Step 2: In the pop up, copy and paste your Google Analytics Tracking ID.

Step 3: By default, the following custom events are sent to Google Analytics with Event Category Quiz and Event Label Your_Quiz_Title and Event Action with the values of:

  • View

  • Start

  • Lead

  • Result

  • 25% Completed

  • 50% Completed

  • 75% Completed

  • 100% Completed

  • Question X/TOTAL_QUESTIONS Answered (ex. Question 2/7 Answered)

  • Result Title (ex. Test Result 1)

You can optionally turn off the individual question events and the result title events (last two in the list), by clicking and unchecking the boxes shown below:

Analyze events in Google Analytics dashboard

Step 1: Login to your Google Analytics account and navigate to Behavior -> Events -> Overview section located in the left sidebar.

Step 2: Under Event Category, you will see Quiz as an option. Click on it to explore further.

Step 3: To explore further, click Event Action under Primary Dimension to sort events by the action.

Step 4: The following is an example of all the different events that will be sent by an example quiz with 6 total questions:

Now that you can see all of the different events being sent by your Interact apps to Google Analytics you can utilize Events Overview, Events Flow, and Segmentations to gain further insight into conversions and user behavior on your Interact apps.
