Add a Quiz Announcement bar To Your Square Online Store (Formerly Weebly)

This Article describes how to Add an Interact Quiz announcement bar to your Square online store

Written by Damaris Pacheco

This guide walks you through adding a quiz link to your Square Online header and confirming it works on your live site.

You’ll be able to:

  • Add a quiz link as a button in your Square Online header

  • Control where the button appears by selecting a header layout

  • Confirm the button opens your quiz on your live site

Before you start

Make sure you have the following:

  • An active Interact account

  • At least one created quiz in Interact

  • Your quiz is published in Interact

  • Access to edit your Square Online site

💡 Note: If you don’t see your quiz button immediately after you add the link, Save your changes and use Preview to confirm it’s showing.

Step 1. Get your Interact Announcement Bar Embed Code

In Square Online, you’ll add your quiz using your quiz Share Link (not a script embed).

  1. Log in to Interact.

  2. Locate the quiz you want to add to your Square Online site.

  3. Click the Share & Embed tab.

  4. Click Share Link on the left sidebar.

  5. Click Copy Code.

❗ Important: Always copy the quiz link/code from the quiz’s Share & Embed tab (not from the browser address bar URL).

Step 2. Add the embed code to Square

You’ll enable a header button in Square Online and paste your Interact quiz link into the button link settings.

Embed on a Square Online site using the Header button

  1. Log in to Square.

  2. From the left-hand side of the dashboard, select Online.

  3. Select Online store.

  4. Under the Website section, click Edit site.

  5. In the site editor, click Header.

  6. Scroll down and select the header layout you want to use.

  7. Scroll down and turn on the Button section under the Content category.

  8. Click the Edit link box.

  9. Paste in your Interact quiz link (from Step 1).

  10. Select the appropriate Category for the link.

  11. Click Save.

❗ Important: If the Button section is not turned on in your header settings, your quiz link won’t appear on your live site.

Step 3. View the Announcement Bar on your live page

  1. In Square Online, click Preview.

  2. Confirm the header button is visible.

  3. Click the button and confirm it opens your quiz.

💡 Tip: If you don’t see the button while editing, this is expected in some cases—check the Preview version of your site.

Step 4. Test the Embed

Confirm the header button and quiz work end-to-end on your Square Online site.

  1. Load your site as a visitor would.

  2. Click the header button you added.

  3. Take the quiz as a visitor would.

  4. If your quiz includes an opt-in form, submit the form to confirm it appears and can be completed.

⚠️ Warning: If you’re testing an opt-in form, use a real email you can access so you can verify follow-up emails (if you have them enabled).

Step 5. Publish your Square Online changes

Your changes won’t be visible to visitors until your site is published.

  1. In Square Online, click Publish when you’re ready to make the change live.

  2. Open your live site and confirm the header button appears and opens your quiz.

❗ Important: If you add the link but don’t Publish, the button won’t appear for visitors.
