This guide walks you through adding an Interact quiz as a pop-up on a Squarespace site using Promotional Pop-Up.
You’ll be able to:
Add a quiz pop-up to your site
Control what your pop-up says and what button visitors click
Confirm the quiz opens correctly on your live site
Before you start
Make sure you have the following:
An active Interact account
At least one created quiz in Interact
Your quiz is published in Interact
Access to edit your Squarespace site
💡 Note: Squarespace pop-ups and embeds often won’t render inside the editor while you’re editing. You’ll usually need to Save and view the page live (or in preview) to confirm the pop-up is showing.
Step 1. Get your Interact quiz link
You’ll use your Interact quiz Share Link as the button URL in Squarespace.
Log in to Interact.
Locate the quiz you want to add as a pop-up.
Click the Share tab.
Click Share Link.
Click Copy link.
❗ Important: Always copy the quiz link from the quiz’s Share tab (not from the browser address bar URL).
Step 2. Add the quiz link to Squarespace
You’ll paste your Interact quiz link into a Squarespace Promotional Pop-Up button action.

Log in to Squarespace.
From the left menu, click Website.
Click Pages.
Under Pages, scroll to Marketing Tools.
Click Promotional Pop-Up.
Choose the pop-up layout you want to use.
Edit the Content section to add your quiz title and a short description.
Go back to the Promotional Pop-Up menu.
Click Action.
Under Actions, select Click a button.
Update the button text (for example, Take this quiz).
Paste your Interact quiz link (from Step 1) into the button link field.
Click Save.
❗ Important: If you don’t click Save, the pop-up won’t appear on your live site.
Step 3. View the quiz on your live page
Click Save in Squarespace (if you haven’t already).
Open your site in a new tab to confirm the pop-up appears.
Click the pop-up button to confirm it opens your Interact quiz.
💡 Tip: If you don’t see the pop-up right away, check your Display & timing settings in Squarespace and try viewing your site in an incognito/private window.
Step 4. Test the embed
Confirm the quiz works end-to-end from the pop-up.
Load your live site as a visitor would.
Wait for the pop-up to appear.
Click the pop-up button and take the quiz.
If your quiz includes an opt-in form, submit the form to confirm it appears and can be completed.
⚠️ Warning: If you’re testing an opt-in form, use a real email you can access so you can verify follow-up emails (if you have them enabled).
Step 5. Publish your Squarespace changes
Squarespace changes won’t be visible to visitors until they’re saved (and your site/page is publicly accessible).
In the pop-up editor, click Save.
If your site is not public, make sure your Squarespace site settings allow visitors to access the site where the pop-up is enabled.
❗ Important: If you configure the pop-up but don’t Save, it won’t appear for visitors.
