This guide walks you through embedding an Interact quiz pop-up onto a Showit page.
You’ll be able to:
Add your quiz as a pop-up on a Showit page
Control where the pop-up appears using pop-up rules
Confirm the pop-up loads correctly on your live site
Before you start
Make sure you have the following:
An active Interact account
At least one created quiz in Interact
Your quiz is published in Interact
Access to edit and publish your Showit site
💡 Note: If you don’t see the pop-up immediately after adding the code, Save your changes and use Preview to confirm it’s showing.
Step 1. Get your Interact pop-up embed code
Log in to Interact.
Locate the quiz you want to embed.
Click the Share & Embed tab.
Click Popup.
Click the Javascript tab.
Toggle on Activate the quiz to promote.
(Optional) Customize your pop-up settings (for example, Timer Delay and Hiatus) and add any rules for which pages should show (or not show) the pop-up.
Click Copy Code.
❗ Important: You can only have 1 quiz pop-up active at a time. Activating a new quiz pop-up will replace the previously active one.
Step 2. Add the Pop-Up Code to Showit
You’ll paste your Interact pop-up code into Showit so it loads on the page you choose.
Embedding the quiz as a pop-up in Showit
Log in to Showit.
Open the site you want to embed your quiz onto.
Select the page you want the quiz pop-up to run on.
On the right-hand side, click Advanced Settings.
Double-click Advanced Settings to open it.
Paste your Interact pop-up code into Custom Head HTML.
Click Save.
❗ Important: Paste the pop-up script into Custom Head HTML (not a canvas embed widget). Pop-up code must load in the page’s <head> to work correctly.
Step 3. View the quiz on your live page
Click Save in Showit (if you haven’t already).
Preview your site (or load the live page) and confirm the pop-up appears.
💡 Tip: If you don’t see the pop-up while editing in the design view, this is expected in many cases—check the saved/preview/live version of the page instead.
Step 4. Test the Embed
Confirm the quiz pop-up works end-to-end on your Showit page.
Load the page where you installed the pop-up code.
Wait for your Timer Delay (if you set one).
Take the quiz as a visitor would.
If your quiz includes an opt-in form, submit the form to confirm it appears and can be completed.
⚠️ Warning: If you set a Hiatus, you may not see the pop-up again right away after closing it. Test in an incognito/private browser window (or clear site cookies) so you can reliably confirm the pop-up behavior.
Step 5. Publish your Showit changes
Showit changes won’t be visible to visitors until your site is published.
In Showit, click Save.
Publish your site so the changes go live.
❗ Important: If you add the code but don’t publish your Showit design, the pop-up won’t appear for visitors.
