This guide walks you through connecting Interact with Omnisend so quiz leads are automatically added as new contacts in your Omnisend account.
You’ll be able to:
Send quiz leads to Omnisend in real time
Choose which Omnisend list new leads should be added to
Map quiz results and answers to Omnisend contact data
Use quiz data for segmentation, automation, and email campaigns
Before you start
Make sure you have the following:
An active Interact account
An active Omnisend account
Access to API keys in Omnisend
At least one created quiz in Interact
💡 Note: This feature is only available in the latest Interact user dashboard at app.tryinteract.com. Log in there to access it.
Step 1. Get your Omnisend API key
Log in to your Omnisend account.
Go to Store Settings.
Click API.
Click Create API Key.
This step can be skipped if you already have a valid API Key, but it is recommended you create one specifically for use with Interact.
Type in a name for your API Key (for example,
Interact).(Optional) If you limit permissions, ensure Contacts permission is selected before saving.
Copy your API Key.
⚠️ Keep your API key secure. Anyone with access to this key can add or update contacts in your Omnisend account.
Step 2. Connect Omnisend integration
Log in to Interact.
From your dashboard, go to Quizzes.
Click Edit to open quiz builder.
Go to Lead Generation > Integrations.
Find Omnisend and click Connect.
Paste your Omnisend API key.
Click Connect.
You’ll see a confirmation once the connection is successful.
Step 3. Map quiz results to Omnisend
When someone completes your quiz, Interact can take different actions in Omnisend based on the quiz result they receive.
In the integration setup flow, go to the Results step.
You’ll see each quiz result listed separately.
For each quiz result, you can choose what happens in Omnisend by adding actions.
Available actions for Omnisend include:
Update Custom Property
Add Tag to Contact
Update a custom property
You can store the quiz result directly on the Omnisend contact record as a custom property.
Click Add actions.
Find Update Custom Property.
Type an Omnisend custom property name in the input box (for example,
quiz_result).The value will auto-populate with the trigger name, but you can customize this with any value you want.
Add a tag to the contact
You can apply a tag to the Omnisend contact based on the quiz result they receive.
Click Add actions.
Find Add Tag to Contact.
Choose either to add a tag with a default value or with a custom value
Step 4. Map quiz answers to Omnisend (optional)
In addition to quiz results, you can also send individual quiz answers to Omnisend and use them for segmentation and automation.
This works the same way as mapping quiz results, but instead of triggering actions based on the final result, actions are triggered based on how someone answers a specific question.
💡 Tip: Quiz answers are great for capturing preferences, intent, or qualifiers (for example: budget, experience level, or goals).
Step 5. Omnisend settings
After the Answers step, you’ll configure Omnisend-specific settings.
In the integration setup flow, go to the Settings step.
Enable or disable Double opt-in for Omnisend.
(Optional) Enable or disable a Welcome email. This option is only available if you already have it configured in Omnisend.
⚠️ If Double opt-in is enabled, new contacts may need to confirm their subscription via the confirmation email before they’re subscribed.
Step 6. Map opt‑in form fields to Omnisend
Next, connect your Interact opt‑in form fields to Omnisend contact fields.
Go to the Fields step in the setup flow.
You’ll see Interact fields on the left and Omnisend contact field mappings on the right.
Click the dropdown on the right of the form field you want to map (None Selected means it is not mapped).
Select the Omnisend field you want to map to.
⚠️ Default fields (cannot be changed) include Email and First Name.
Step 7. Send a test lead
Before your integration is fully active, you’ll need to send a test lead.
This step verifies the connection between Interact and Omnisend and activates the integration.
Click Send test lead.
Fill out all Opt-In Form fields to send as test lead information.
(Optional) Navigate to Quiz Data tab to customize test quiz data.
Click Send test lead to submit.
Log in to Omnisend and verify the contact was created successfully.
Step 8. Publish your quiz
Any changes you make to your integration won’t be live until your quiz is published.
Before sharing your quiz:
Click Publish in the top-right corner of the quiz editor.
Confirm your changes by clicking Publish changes.
Once published, your Omnisend integration will be active on the live version of your quiz.
⚠️ Remember: After making changes to your integration or opt-in form, publish all changes to update your live quiz.
Disable Omnisend integration for your quiz
If you want to stop sending leads from a specific quiz to Omnisend, you can disable the integration without disconnecting your Omnisend account.
Edit the quiz in Interact.
Go to Lead Generation > Integrations.
Navigate to Connect step.
Click Disable.
⚠️ Remember: After making changes to your integration or opt-in form, publish all changes to update your live quiz.
Once disabled, new quiz submissions from this quiz will no longer be sent to Omnisend. Your Omnisend account remains connected and other quizzes are unaffected.
❗ Important: After disconnecting an integration from your quiz, your opt-in form will remain disabled until a new or existing integration is connected. Select .csv File Download to keep your opt-in form enabled with no integration connected.
Disconnect your Omnisend account
Disconnecting your Omnisend account removes the authentication between Interact and Omnisend entirely. This is similar to uninstalling the integration.
❗ Important: After disconnecting your Omnisend integration, the following effects occur:
All Omnisend integrations across all quizzes will stop working.
No new quiz leads will be sent to Omnisend.
Existing contacts in Omnisend are not removed.
If you reconnect Omnisend later, you’ll need to reconfigure the integration for each quiz.
