Add a Quiz Announcement Bar to Your Leadpages Landing Page

This article describes how to embed an Interact quiz announcement bar onto your Leadpages site.

Written by Damaris Pacheco

This guide walks you through adding an Interact quiz announcement bar to a Leadpages page.

You’ll be able to:

  • Add your quiz as an announcement bar across your Leadpages pages

  • Control when and where the announcement bar shows

  • Confirm the announcement bar loads correctly on your live site

Before you start

Make sure you have the following:

  • An active Interact account

  • At least one created quiz in Interact

  • Your quiz is published in Interact

  • Access to edit your Leadpages landing page

💡 Note: If you don’t see the announcement bar immediately after adding the embed code, Save your changes and use Preview to confirm it’s showing. Also check your Timer Delay (you may need to wait a few seconds before it appears).

Step 1. Get your Interact Announcement Bar Embed Code

  1. Log in to Interact.

  2. Locate the quiz you want to promote.

  3. Click the Share & Embed tab.

  4. Click Announcement bar on the left sidebar.

  5. Toggle on Promote [Quiz Name] in the announcement bar.

    • You can have 1 quiz announcement bar running at a time.

  6. Customize your announcement bar settings (as needed).

    • We recommend a Timer Delay of 5–10 seconds.

    • We suggest a Hiatus of at least 10 days (so returning visitors don’t see it repeatedly).

  7. (Optional) Create your Announcement rules.

    • Use rules to show the announcement bar on specific pages only, or to prevent it from showing on certain pages.

    • This is not required—you can skip this if you want it to run site-wide.

  8. Click Copy Code.

❗ Important: Always copy the announcement bar code from the quiz’s Share & Embed tab (not from the browser address bar URL).

Step 2. Add the Embed Code to Leadpages

You’ll paste your Interact announcement bar code into Leadpages so it can load on your page(s).

Embed on a Leadpages page using the Analytics settings

  1. Log in to Leadpages.

  2. Open the landing page (or site page) you want to add the announcement bar to, then click Edit.

  3. In the builder, click Settings (gear icon).

  4. Select the Analytics tab.

  5. Paste your Interact announcement bar code into the Head Section Tracking Code field.

  6. Click Save, then Update.

💡 Note: If you only add the code to one page in Leadpages, the announcement bar can only display on that page (unless you also add the code to other pages where you want it to appear).

Step 3. View the Announcement Bar on your Live Page

  1. In Leadpages, click Save.

  2. Click Preview and confirm the announcement bar loads.

  3. Wait for your Timer Delay (for example, 5–10 seconds) and confirm the bar appears.

  4. Click the announcement bar to confirm it opens your quiz.

💡 Tip: If you don’t see the announcement bar while editing, this is expected in many cases—check the saved/preview version of the page.

Step 4. Test the Embed

Confirm the announcement bar and quiz work end-to-end on your Leadpages page.

  1. Load the page where you added the announcement bar.

  2. Wait for the announcement bar to appear.

  3. Click the bar and take the quiz as a visitor would.

  4. If your quiz includes an opt-in form, submit the form to confirm it appears and can be completed.

⚠️ Warning: If you’re testing an opt-in form, use a real email you can access so you can verify follow-up emails (if you have them enabled).

Step 5. Publish your Leadpages changes

Leadpages changes won’t be visible to visitors until they’re saved and your page is publicly accessible.

  1. In the page editor, click Save.

  2. Click Publish (or Update, if your page is already published).

❗ Important: If you add the code but don’t Save and Publish/Update, the announcement bar won’t appear for visitors.
